What a fantastic achievement, well done Ellis!
Last night Ellis, an Arapaho Cub, was awarded with one of the highest possible awards in The Scout Association – Chief Scouts Commendation for Meritorious Conduct!
Ellis was nominated for this award by his Cub Leader June after putting his first response training to use when he witnessed a motorcycle accident. After calling for an ambulance and whilst liaising with the emergency services, he comforted and reassured both the rider and his son, before guiding paramedics to the only set of open gates at the playing fields.
Liz, our County Commissioner came down to present the award on behalf of Chief Scout Bear Grylls, who Ellis will get to meet at a dedicated parade at Windsor Castle next year.
The medal he has received can be worn on his uniform with pride as he passes through the sections here at Hessle Scout Group.
Everyone here at Hessle Scout Group would like to congratulate Ellis on his award, what a brilliant role model he is for Cubs all over the Country!
