As we move into a new term, there are a number of things we need to remember.

  • We should create exciting activities for young people whilst balancing the management of risk. Signpost members to the yellow safety checklist on the programme ideas within the activity finder and to the risk assessment guidance and videos available online.
  • Continue to remind volunteers they should refresh their safety, safeguarding and first aid training every three years.
  • Members’ whose first aid training has expired have until January 2022 to get their 10A and 10B (which may now take place face-to-face) modules up to date. Encourage members to speak to their Training Adviser and sign up to local courses that can be completed in person, online or through the approved blended model. More info here.

If you need support to manage the risk of asbestos in your Scout-owned premise there’s still time to register for our webinar tomorrow night (18 August) at 7pm. You can also read detailed guidance on our website.
