Notes from District Explorer Leaders Meeting – 5th September

Partnership Agreements & Accounts:
Each Explorer Unit needs to have these if not completed already.

John Jobling (District Treasurer) is happy to help with Explorer Accounts.
Look into getting Gift Aid.

OSM:
All Groups now on OSM. Leaders to have own section, District will message Leaders, Leaders to pass on info to Explorers. Please make sure all Explorers are entered and details are up to date. Share any new members to District OSM.

Email addresses:
Check that DESC has up to date email and that you are using a scouting email and not a personal email.

Training:
Check that your training is up to date especially safeguarding and First Aid. Discuss training with your TA.

District Events & Dates:
Please keep to deadlines set for District events. Bills will be sent out for payment. No place without payment. Electronic payments are accepted.
NAN forms must be emailed to Linda or Rachael at least a week before the event.

Young Leaders:
Young Leaders must be at least 14. They all need to complete their Mod A training within 3 months of becoming a Young Leader. Training is through Humberside.
14^th-16^th September:      Raywell, Mods B-E Young Leader training weekend (Mod A on Saturday)
30^th Nov-2^nd Dec:              Raywell, Mods F-J Young Leader training weekend (Mod A on Saturday)

Missions need to be signed off by Lucy or County Training Team. They can be signed off at Young Leader Training Weekends or Lucy will visit the YL to advise them and sign off the Missions. Only Lucy or County admin can load Missions onto OSM.

Hopefully District will be able to organise Mod K (First Aid)

20^th October:                     BBITS JOTA & JOTI Day @ Christ Church, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm ( see District website)

11^th November:                Remembrance Sunday, Beverley Minister
23^rd-25^th November:       Winter on the Hills, booking via County website
30^th Nov-2^nd Dec:              Raywell, Mods F-I Young Leader training weekend (Mod A on Saturday)

7^th April:                               St George’s Day Celebrations, Beverley Racecourse
17^th-19^th May:                    Camp Craft Weekend, Tablers Wood Campsite
4^th July:                                 District AGM
12^th-14^th July:                     Gilwell 24

District Explorer Event:
We our planning on holding a social event possibly staying overnight at Gilberdyke Scout HQ. We would like input from the Explorers. Please let DESC know of any thoughts and ideas.

Sparks Programme:  Badges can be ordered through County.
