It gives me great pleasure to let you know that Andy Jackson has been appointed to the role of Jamboree Unit Leader for the 25th World Scout Jamboree in Korea 2023.

The job of the selection panel was very hard as the standard of applications for this role was high.

I caught up with Andy earlier today to give him the good news and he had the following words:

“I am thrilled to have been successful in securing the role of Unit 40 Leader for the 25th World Scout Jamboree in Korea in 2023.

I caught the bug whilst being an Assistant Unit Leader supporting young people in Humberside on their adventure of a lifetime to the last Jamboree in West Virginia, USA and I’m looking forward to having the opportunity to lead the next contingent in 2023 on there’s.

In my Previous Scouting roles, Section Leader, Deputy District Commissioner and District Commissioner in Hull I have been involved in planning and organising International experiences for our adult volunteers and young people, in 2018 we held our first International District Camp, taking 144 people to Kandersteg, Switzerland for a week packed with fun and adventure.

During the day I’m an Operations Planning Manager within the aviation industry. Which, coupled with my Scouting experience I believe stands me in good stead to deliver a successful, once in a lifetime experience for young people who decide they want to be a part of the next World Scout Jamboree”

Please join me in wishing Andy well in his role.

Applications are still open for the Deputy Unit Leader and Assistant Unit Leader roles.
