Help young members shape Scouting

As we plan for Scouting’s future we need to prioritise how we will improve the lives of young people and better support our volunteers. Giving young members the opportunity to contribute to this process is important.

The more responses, the more young people will shape Scouting’s future and give a starting point for measuring the impact of Scouting on young people’s lives – an initiative supported by the World Organisation of the Scout Movement.

Share the survey with your Explorer Scouts

Please encourage your 14-17 year old Explorer Scouts to tell us how Scouting has impacted their lives by completing the online survey. A sample of the survey is available to view.

Please share the survey directly with your Explorer Scouts, and/or their parents – some text including a link to the survey has been prepared to assist you, however if you wish you can include the link in your own text.

The survey closes on 16 June so please share the survey by the end of May to allow time for members to complete it.

Survey response prizes

A £500 prize will go to a randomly selected Explorer Scout who has fully completed the survey, £1000 will go to the District that submits the highest percentage of fully completed surveys, to spend at Scout Shops or Scout Adventures.

If your Region or Nation achieves a response rate of over 1000 Explorer Scouts, then we’ll give you a bespoke report on what your young people have told us.

Thank you for helping to reach this important group of young people, they are the future so it’s vital we give them a chance to share their views.
