Hello Beaver Leader,

We’re very excited to be able to take our planned County Beaver Camp Online so that our young people can still take part in lots of fun activities from their own homes.
The event will take place on the same weekend, 4th – 5th July 2020, with activities shared on our social media platforms via videos, photos and live streams.
We’ll be sharing the full weekend’s programme with you soon, including a kit list of the materials, ingredients and equipment that families will need for each activity.

Just like all Olympics, the Beaverlympics will have and opening and closing ceremony and a mascot too. But we want you and your Beavers to be a part of creating these!
The below activities may form part of your Scouting at Home programme over the coming weeks and you may even wish to complete them during any online meetings you are doing too.

Mascot
We would like Beavers from across the County to design the mascot for our Beaverlympics. They could look at previous year’s mascots for inspiration and then send their designs in to us on: programme@humbersidescouts.org.uk
The Beaver who creates the winning design will receive a £25 Go Outdoor voucher!

Opening & Closing Ceremony Torch Relay
The passing of the Olympic Torch is tradition at every games and we want all Beavers and Beaver Leaders to feature in ours, so this is what we need you to do.
Firstly: Make your own Olympic Torch
We used this one:- https://www.activityvillage.co.uk/make-an-olympic-torch but you can use any design you like.
Secondly: Film a short video clip of your leg of the torch relay
The clip should be filmed in landscape orientation with the Torch Bearer receiving the torch from screen left and passing it off on screen right. There is an example video on Facebook.
We’d love you to be as creative as you can with the clip. Perhaps you could dress up as an Olympic sportsperson or film your clip with an interesting backdrop within the County (ensuring you comply with all current legislation) but please wear your necker in the clip.
Thirdly: Send us your videos
Your videos should be sent to:- programme@humbersidescouts.org.uk
If the file is too large for email; we suggest you send it to the same email address via WeTransfer.
Please send your clips in by Sunday 28th June; 2020 at the latest to give us time to edit them together.

We hope you and your Colony can join us for this exciting event!
